Google has released this year’s most significant new Android operating system update. The new Android version is numbered 9.0 and is nicknamed Pie or pie .
Android Pie is first released today on Google’s own Pixel and Pixel XL and Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphone models. Distribution will start as regular updates over the network even today. Android Pie redefines the bottom of the standard Android screen softkey. A separate button for open applications disappears. Another alternative way to browse the open applications is to wipe sideways at the bottom of the screen.
