The company from Taiwan, Mediatek may have been established in the China market since its processors are located inside many Chinese smartphones, but that is not enough and it is rumored that the company is working on a new chipset for midrange devices. The new chipset is called the Helio P40 and is based on an eight-core processor that will be built using the TSMC 12nm process.

A new Taiwan-based report highlights that this new model, the Helio P40, will be the maker’s chip that will come next year and may help to further enhance the company’s performance this year. And why would this “new” model be so resolute? But as reported it will be extremely cheap, at a cost of between $ 11-12. His immediate opponent will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 Lite chip with a slightly higher price, at $ 15.

At the lowest price of the Helio P40, some want to believe that MediaTek will be able to gain more market share and increase its sales share from 15% this year to 25% next year. The first companies that are expected to buy the newchip first are Oppo, Meizu and Xiaomi.

Finally, from the same source comes the information that we will see a new improved Qualcomm midrange chipset, Snapdragon 670, a 10nm model that will probably be a very ideal choice for several Chinese phone makers to integrate it internally in their new mid-range flagships mainly for 2018.
