Thanks to Android 8.0 you can use new shortcuts on the Galaxy S9 via the icons on your Start screen . In other Galaxy phones with Android Oreo it can , but only on the S9 provides the camera icon this additional function. First find your Cameraicon. Either you have it on your Start screen , or you can find it in the Apps screen , where all apps can be found. Place your finger on the Camera icon until more options appear.
You will now see two variants of the Camera shortcut: Automatic and Selfie .These are respectively the rear camera in the Automatic mode and the front camera. Now put your finger a little longer on the option for which you want to create a new shortcut – and put it where you want it. You can create a shortcut to the mode you prefer to use, but of course you can also add both modes in this way to your Start screen.
All in all, this is a nice way to ensure that you always immediately start your front camera when you tap the Camera icon. Or flipped: if you like to take photos of something other than yourself, you will ensure that you always end up in the automatic mode of the main camera. It would be even more convenient if you could choose which camera you start when you press the On / Off ( Power ) button twice . Unfortunately, that option is not available. Whether this will be possible in a future version of Samsung’s own interface … we do not know.
