Already for some time we were hoping that Huawei would announce to the world a new processor for mid-range smartphones. After the Kirin 659 brought so much equipment to life last year, here’s the new Kirin 710 chipset.
The Kirin 710 is Huawei’s first 12nm chipset. The smaller size means that there should be a significant improvement in power consumption and performance when compared to the 16nm Kirin 659.
In terms of performance, Kirin 710’s single core speed is 75% larger than Kirin 659, while for multi-core performance it offers a 68% increase.
The chipset consists of four Cortex-A73 cores with clock speeds of 2.2 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores with speeds of 1.7 GHz. The graphics card is a Mali G5 ARM that is 1.3 times better than the of the Kirin 659 and 1x more energy efficient.

The new chipset also includes support for LTE Cat. 12 and Cat. 13 and dual-SIM dual-4G VoLTE.
In addition to the technical specifications and details we have already mentioned, it should be noted that this processor improves the operation of the cameras in low light conditions. Also worth mentioning is the support for scene recognition and face recognition.
