No stoppage of HMD Global’s software upgrades and testing program on Nokia devices as the Finnish company constantly confirms that it will really try to release the new Android Oreo software on all new models we’ve seen for the year 2017. Nokia 8 has already received The update and testing of a beta for Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 are in progress.
Although targeting entry-level phones, Nokia 2 and 3 will also be updated on Android Oreo, no matter if their interior is enough to run the new operating system. According to HMD’s Juho Sarvikas, Nokia 2 will be updated directly on Android 8.1 Oreo, as this version of the operating system includes many of Google’s announced Google Android management enhancements that will further enhance Nokia 2’s performance.
Obviously, this will not happen until next year, as HMD Global would probably want to launch Android Oreo first for its two other smartphones for Nokia 5 and 6.
